DOCUMENT ID: 1126-02 SYNOPSIS: Can Solaris 2.1 x86 run on a secondary SCSI disk only? OS RELEASE: 2.1 PRODUCT: Solaris x86 KEYWORDS: secondary SCSI disk DOS drive Solaris 2.1 DESCRIPTION: Can Solaris x86 2.1 run on a secondary SCSI disk only? The first drive is a DOS drive. SOLUTION: Unfortunately, no it can not. Solaris 2.1 will definitely support a system with 2 hard disks, but there must be at least a small Solaris partition on the primary disk. If you are running Solaris 2.4 or later you can use the MDB boot floppy to allow booting to a secondary drive. DATE APPROVED: 10/10/95
